The Twin City Twisters project involved the comprehensive planning, design, and construction of a cutting-edge, 38,880 SF gymnastics facility located in Champlin, MN. This state-of-the-art facility is a fusion of performance, functionality, and community engagement, serving both current and future generations of athletes.
The new TCT facility consolidates two existing locations into a single, expansive space designed to meet the growing needs of gymnasts and coaches alike. Situated along Highway 169, the building makes a striking impression with its bright and modern design, featuring a light, airy precast structure adorned with Nichia metal panel accents and clerestory windows. The facility is anchored by a prominent, back-lit sign showcasing the new TCT logo, creating a strong, welcoming focal point at the main entrance.
Designed with both form and function in mind, the facility includes a variety of spaces: specialized gymnastics areas, retail spaces, administrative offices with integrated storage and kitchenette facilities, future concessions areas, and a versatile event space. A thoughtfully planned drive aisle ensures a smooth drop-off and pick-up experience for parents, contributing to the overall ease of access.
Inside, the facility boasts a spacious preschool gym and an expansive open-to-deck gymnasium designed to support elite training. The high-quality coaching staff can easily move between training areas, thanks to meticulous space planning and coordination with equipment and pit vendors. Clerestory windows allow natural daylight to flood the gym, enhancing the atmosphere while also minimizing glare and distraction for athletes during training sessions. Large interior windows provide an opportunity for parents to observe training progress, further strengthening the sense of community and engagement within the TCT family.
